Endoscopy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Endoscopy Department, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Assist endoscopists with endoscopy procedures, ensuring that necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments after use, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
- Assist in transportation of patients, via wheelchair or stretcher, within the department and hospital when necessary.
- Observe patient condition while in the procedure room and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring that work and storage areas are clean and orderly, and equipment and supplies are stored securely.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
- Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
