Endoscopy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting endoscopists and endoscopy teams in performing various endoscopic procedures.

• Assist endoscopists with endoscopy procedures, ensuring that necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments after use, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
• Re-supply procedure rooms with standard supplies, maintaining endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment.
• Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
• Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher within the department and hospital when necessary, verifying patient identity and assisting with lifting and positioning for endoscopy procedures.
• Observe patient condition during procedures and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are stored securely.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
• Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
