Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our team at Beacon Hill. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Implement and maintain commercial litigation case management systems, including file management, case calendaring, and task lists.
  • Client Communication: Meet and confer with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss cases and projects.
  • Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including routine retention and fee applications, draft orders, and prepare exhibits.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and analyze case management procedures, local court rules, and statutes for compliance.
  • Case Support: Review and monitor case dockets, identify, summarize, and circulate relevant pleadings and applications.
  • Hearing Preparation: Manage hearing preparation and support, including scheduling of telephonic appearances and preparation of hearing binders.
  • Case Information Management: Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case information, including depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
  • Time Record Management: Develop and maintain time records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate with attorneys on hearing and trial preparation.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial litigation.
  • Education: College degree or paralegal certificate, preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong knowledge of electronic filing, and familiarity with fundamental commercial litigation concepts and court pleadings.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
