Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated X-Ray Technologist to join our team at The Urgent Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our x-ray equipment.
Responsibilities:- Take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs using x-ray equipment, following providers' orders and adhering to quality standards.
- Verify patient identity and review providers' orders before beginning x-ray procedures, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients, address their questions, and provide clear instructions for preparation and positioning.
- Position patients correctly, adjust imaging equipment, and limit radiation exposure by using shields when necessary.
- Notify management promptly of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and repair.
- Maintain accurate records of completed x-ray procedures, including logging reports and findings in the EMR.
- Triage patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform labs, administer injections, and vaccinations as ordered by providers.
- Support patients and providers throughout the visit, addressing medical questions and scheduling check-in times as needed.
- Turn over rooms, clean and disinfect exam rooms, and maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to policy and procedures.
- Stock and restock supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and organized workspace.
- Trained and licensed to perform x-rays in the state of Louisiana without restrictions.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration required.
- Graduate from an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
- Minimum 5 years of radiology experience preferred.
- Experience with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) and ability to move or lift patients.
- Pass periodic competency testing and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through personal and professional development.
- BLS certified within 90 days of employment.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Open and flexible availability, including weekend availability, with a minimum of 20-30 hours per week.
