Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Learning Center Assistant Teacher to join our team at the Martha O'Bryan Center. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and independent learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with DHS Child Care Licensing standards and National Association for the Education of Young Children code of ethical conduct and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Implement positive discipline techniques that foster self-discipline and respect for others.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Contribute to the team effort by participating in staff meetings and functions.
  • Act as a Lead Teacher when absent, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Education or Child Development, or enrolled in such a degree program, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials.
  • Early Childhood experience of two years or more.
  • Experience working with young children and families, particularly those living in poverty.
What We Offer
  • A 4-day work week, 6:45 am-5:45 pm.
