Job Summary

As a Lead Teacher in the Early Learning Center, you will play a vital role in creating a high-quality learning environment that fosters the holistic development of young children. This position requires a passionate and dedicated individual who can work collaboratively with families and colleagues to ensure the success of every child.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate program of activities that aligns with the Center's educational philosophy and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements, including DHS Child Care Licensing and the National Association for the Education of Young Children code of ethical conduct.
  • Establish a safe, healthy, and independent learning environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Implement positive discipline techniques that encourage self-discipline and respect for others.
  • Plan and execute parent activities in conjunction with administrative and classroom staff.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and involve them in the learning process.
  • Manage the classroom effectively, organizing, planning, keeping records, communicating, coordinating, and acting as a cooperative co-worker.
  • Seek out and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Keep the director informed of problems, concerns, and needs related to children, parents, and classroom operations.
  • Contribute to the team effort by participating in staff meetings and functions.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, education, child development, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of early childhood experience. A passion for working with young children, strong people skills, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.


Work Schedule

This position requires a 4-day workweek, with hours from 6:45 am to 5:45 pm.
