Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, we are seeking a highly skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our HVAC/Refrigeration ammonia system.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain all engine room and other equipment, including boilers, pumps, chiller, cooling tower, compressors, condensers, and electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted production and safe equipment operation.
- Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and examining refrigeration systems, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration. Maintain accurate records of equipment information and repair files.
- Develop, update, and implement Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs and document completion of PMs.
- Ensure an inventory of essential spare parts and tools is maintained to prevent downtime in production.
- Monitor BOD and pH levels in wastewater and evaluate existing procedures versus establishing a wastewater treatment facility. Prepare cost comparison analysis and make recommendations to the VP-Operations and Plant Manager.
- Develop a Proposal for a Sustainability Policy for the company. After implementation, responsible for maintaining updates.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing plans for efficient plant operation and monitoring and enforcing safety in the plant. Arrange for safety repairs and updates as needed.
- Responsible for the facility's PSM & RMP Program & Refrigeration Systems in consultation with Corp. and external refrigeration company's. Follow procedures and document as required. Notify the Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, and Corp. Refrigeration Coordinator of major repairs or replacements needed.
- Demonstrate leadership in implementing and supporting a safety-focused culture.
- Lead in the training and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment where they can succeed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of experience in refrigeration, ammonia, and HVAC maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and all required licenses and certifications from federal and state agencies to operate and maintain refrigeration, ammonia, and HVAC systems.
