Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Server to become a vital part of our unique restaurant team. The ideal candidate will merge a love for food service with the patience and empathy required to work alongside and support our diverse staff. This role necessitates not only outstanding customer service abilities but also the capacity to foster an inclusive and supportive work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and guide them through their dining journey.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the menu and daily specials.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
  • Serve food and drinks with appropriate timing and presentation.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to requests.
  • Upsell when suitable to enhance the guest's experience and boost sales.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with and mentor team members with developmental disabilities, adapting communication styles and providing patient guidance and support as necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive work environment that celebrates the contributions of all team members.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff, hosts, and management to ensure seamless service and appropriate task allocation for all team members.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and restaurant policies.
  • Keep the dining area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years or older to serve alcohol.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry heavy trays (up to 30 lbs).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills: Accurate typing, proficient in navigating websites, entering and recalling data, using word processors and spreadsheet software, managing emails, and familiar with digital communication etiquette and techniques.
  • Food Handler's certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hiring).
