We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Carlsbad, CA. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol city streets, respond to emergency calls, and enforce laws and regulations.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and testify in court as needed.
- Make arrests, issue citations, and serve warrants as necessary.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents and activities.
- Must be a current or previous law enforcement officer with a POST Basic Certificate.
- One year of California law enforcement experience is preferred.
- Out-of-state lateral candidates must have one year of experience as a law enforcement officer and be able to complete the POST Basic course waiver process prior to hire date.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph screening.
- Must meet the standards established for peace officers as defined by California Government Code Section 1031.
