As a Licensed Vocational Nurse II Outpatient, you will play a vital role in the planning and delivery of nursing services for patients under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the identification of patient needs and provide direct nursing care to patients, while supporting unit functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and make accommodations for such differences.
- Set priorities according to most emergent needs on an ongoing basis.
- Perform LVN skills in compliance with all approved policies/procedures with minimal or indirect supervision.
- Recognize and clarify inappropriate orders.
- Collaborate with appropriate health care team members in a timely manner to facilitate patient outcomes.
- Re-enforce learning and discharge planning needs of patient/family and document teaching in a timely manner.
- Routinely take usual and special precautions relative to the age, medical history, condition of the patient, and the type of treatment being given.
- Document clinical activities in a timely manner.
- Documentation is legible, comprehensive and accurate.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in previous three (3) years.
- Ability to function with a minimum of supervision utilizing nursing problem solving techniques.
- Takes initiative to recognize and evaluate area of concern.
- Improvises to find solutions and initiates appropriate follow-through.
