The IT Security Specialist plays a vital role within the broader IT Security team, contributing to the mission of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability throughout the Public Storage IT ecosystem. This position involves assisting with security audits, conducting risk assessments, and analyzing security measures, while also participating in the recommendations for necessary IT security systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt priorities and focus according to business needs as directed by leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in initiatives aimed at safeguarding the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the organization's technological infrastructure and information assets.
  • Support and manage the operational execution of Identity Management platforms, including processing identity requests and related actions.
  • Assist in auditing existing systems, including Windows, security monitoring, firewalls, intrusion detection, and remote access logs, while scrutinizing network traffic and overseeing the company's virus protection protocols to ensure compliance with IT security policies.
  • Under guidance, assist with security incidents concerning servers and network devices, and participate in regular security audits of critical information security systems, generating necessary supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to comprehensive security reviews of applications, addressing all layers of security.
  • Support the Company's patch management processes to guarantee that all systems comply with required updates.
  • Assist in investigating attempted breaches and rectifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
