Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide/Food Services Associate to join our team at Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital. As a key member of our food services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional food service and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing and serving patient meals, including setting up the salad bar and preparing vegetables, salads, and other salad bar items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, including washing dishes and sanitizing equipment.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of beverages and maintain the dish room area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Interact with patients in the serving line, providing good customer service and offering assistance when needed.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or concerns to the Food Service Cook/Supervisor, Cook, or Dietary Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including weekend work.
Requirements
  • Comply with established guidelines for sanitation and safety.
  • Assist the cook in preparing each meal tray for specified units.
  • Set up the salad bar and prepare vegetables, salads, and other salad bar items in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure the salad bar displays an attractive and tasteful appearance.
  • Wash dishes and maintain the dish room area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Utilize portion control guidelines when preparing food.
  • Record dish machine temperatures on daily log after each meal, and record sanitizer strength in the morning daily.
  • Follow cleaning assignments of the dining room and food preparation area daily.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of beverages and ensure coffee pots remain full.
  • Interact well with patients in the serving line, providing good customer service and offering assistance when needed.
  • Encourage a harmonious working relationship in the department as well as with all employees of the facility.
  • Report any equipment malfunction immediately to the Food Service Cook/Supervisor, Cook, or Dietary Director.
  • Clean tables and chairs after lunch and mop cafeteria floor at approximately 1:30 p.m.
  • Ensure coffee and paper goods orders for units and departments are done.
  • Make sure all units are stocked with milk and snacks each day, including HS stacks for special diets.
