Job Overview

Marathon Staffing is currently seeking dependable individuals for various Quality Control Specialist / Inventory Management roles available in the Portland area.

This dual-function position is designed to uphold quality standards and ensure food safety through meticulous product inspections and accurate quality data documentation as directed by the Quality Assurance supervisor.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare daily quality documentation, including Production and Quality Certification Sheets.
  • Complete Hold Request Forms as necessary.
  • Validate and verify all tasks against line lead documentation.
  • Generate and distribute quality reports to management on a daily basis.
  • Maintain thorough and precise records using both manual and digital methods.
  • Accurately document and track damages for each task.
  • Utilize and navigate the client’s computer system effectively.
  • Reconcile raw materials, labels, damages, and finished products.
  • Provide necessary reports to customers as required.
  • Document and rectify all findings on the Quality Certification sheet.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations of products.
  • Perform regular line audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Execute Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits to confirm compliance.
  • Carry out cycle counts on tasks to achieve less than a 1% variance.
  • Track production by lot and expiration date to maintain complete traceability.
  • Assist with various duties and support team members as needed.
  • Create accurate pallet tags for each task.
  • Support month-end inventory counts and related processes.
  • Conduct production function checks, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verifications, label checks, weight checks, package integrity checks, and product sampling.
  • Engage in the Department and Company Safety Program.
  • Understand and adhere to safety protocols relevant to the position.
  • Follow hazardous materials safety procedures when selecting and mixing cleaning solutions.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in Quality Assurance or Inventory preferred.
  • Proficient in operating computer systems.
  • Ability to compose simple letters and memos.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, crawling, and bending.

The pay rate for this position is $20.26 per hour.
