Job Title: Patient Experience Specialist

Planned Parenthood South Texas is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Experience Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Experience Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Job Summary:

The Patient Experience Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the patient's process from arrival to departure, ensuring that our commitment to equitable, excellent, non-judgmental care is evident in each patient's experience. This includes greeting patients and visitors, documenting patient information, providing patient education, and conducting STI/HIV assessments and testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a positive, warm, and caring manner to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Document patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a complete, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Provide clear and easy-to-understand patient education and respond to queries about health services.
  • Conduct pre/post education for patients who request STI/HIV screening and maintain accurate statistical information while protecting client identity.
  • Perform in-house tests/measurements, collect and process specimens for external laboratory testing, and run laboratory controls.
  • Comply with Class D Pharmacy regulations when receiving, packaging, labeling, documenting, and dispensing medications under the direction of the Pharmacist.
  • Refer patients to other medical and social services agencies as appropriate.
  • Participate in health center and affiliate efforts to achieve established goals for productivity and revenue cycle.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required. Some college preferred. Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • 3-5 years customer service experience is highly desired. At least one year experience as a Medical Assistant or in a health care position preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide an exceptional patient experience for all.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact well with all patients, guests, co-workers, and supervisor.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Fully functional in general computer use, with the demonstrated ability to effectively maintain complete and accurate Electronic Health Records (EHR).
