Position Overview:
Adventist Outpatient Imaging is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless experience for our patients at our outpatient imaging facility.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Patient Services Specialist, your primary duties will include:

• Welcoming and guiding patients through their appointments, tests, and inquiries with exemplary customer service skills.

• Managing patient appointment scheduling and coordinating test procedures using an advanced computerized system.

• Collecting and verifying patient demographic, financial, and insurance details to ensure accurate records.

• Conducting pre-registration tasks to gather necessary information and confirm appointments effectively.

• Maintaining accurate patient appointment histories and addressing any discrepancies.

• Advising patients on outstanding balances and anticipated costs for services prior to scheduling future appointments.

• Processing payments at the time of service and issuing receipts for all transactions.

• Preparing necessary documentation and reminder materials to support patient encounters and operational efficiency.

• Collaborating with medical staff to enhance patient experiences and streamline departmental responsibilities.

• Responding to inquiries about departmental services and providing clear information regarding procedures and regulations.

• Reviewing daily scheduling reports and ensuring all appointments are accurately recorded.

• Balancing daily cash receipts and submitting deposits as required.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required; a two-year college degree is preferred.

• Minimum of three years of experience in customer service is essential.

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient scheduling, is preferred.

• Proficiency in using computerized scheduling systems is necessary.

• Familiarity with medical insurance processes and terminology is required.

• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is necessary.

• Experience with IDX patient scheduling/registration systems is a plus.

• At least two years of office management experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Work Schedule:
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. A valid driver's license is required.
