Job Summary

The Parish Operations Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the operational, fiduciary, and administrative functions of the parish. This role requires a strategic leader who can partner with the Pastor and other stakeholders to drive the parish's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management:
    • Partner with the Archdiocesan Business Office and parish bookkeeper to review and analyze parish budgets, financial reports, and other financial data.
    • Ensure compliance with financial and contract reporting requirements for private and public funding, licensing, or regulatory agencies.
    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for the parish and the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
  • Operational Management:
    • Supervise and oversee the Administration, Facilities, and Technology teams.
    • Responsible for all aspects of risk management, including conducting assessments to reduce or address potential safety issues, risk, and liability for the parish.
    • Identify and address operational inefficiencies in procedures and processes, and offer solutions to the Pastor.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the Pastor, Stewardship Council, Finance Council, Pastoral Council, and staff to perform parish governance requirements.
    • Assist the Pastor in ensuring all communications amongst Pastoral staff, ministries, parishioners, and community organizations reflect church practices and the parish's mission.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related discipline.
    • Minimum of six (6) years' experience in operations management.
    • Experience in supervising and managing employees, managing vendors, and financial management.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bilingual - English and Spanish.
    • Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the mission of the parish and the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Working Conditions

This position requires a reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid vehicle insurance. Travel requirements include 15% local and 0% overnight.
