At Arc Technology Solutions LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Excellence Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our high-mix low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, and maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Implement process improvements based on Lean principles and 5S practices.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and direction to engineering and production teams. Lead problem-solving efforts for complex manufacturing challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with product design teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with production capabilities. Offer recommendations for design modifications to optimize manufacturability.
  • Equipment and Tooling Management: Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling. Ensure that equipment operates at peak efficiency and lead initiatives for the adoption of new manufacturing technologies.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure product deliverables are compliant and meet all contractual requirements. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and program management departments to align manufacturing initiatives with organizational goals. Facilitate communication and coordination across teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and assembly technicians. Provide leadership, set performance goals, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Drive the adoption of 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to create and maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work environment.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning for manufacturing operations, including capacity planning, technology adoption, and process innovation.
  • Resource Allocation: Work closely with the program managers and planner to allocate resources effectively, including budgeting for equipment, tooling, and personnel. Ensure optimal allocation of resources to meet production demands and contract requirements.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs for manufacturing engineering and assembly staff. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning to enhance team capabilities and support career growth.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards. Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Requirements:

  • Possess a strong understanding of LEAN principles and extensive experience in implementing these strategies within HMLV manufacturing environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, especially GD&T.
  • Experience with AS9100 & ISO9001 standards.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Has the ability to inspire and motivate team members, maintain department morale, and lead the department members in believing that their quality work is worth it.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or an advanced certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on electro-mechanical equipment. Proven experience in team management, project leadership, and process optimization.
