Maintenance Assistant Job Description

Messina Hof Wine Cellars, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our winery, restaurant, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance of company equipment and machinery.
  • Perform daily checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Assist with irrigation and trellis construction and maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required, including assisting other departments as needed.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a tractor.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a moderate noise level. The work may be performed both inside and outside, and the employee must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
