Position Summary:
Areté is in search of a skilled IT Systems Administrator to support our operations. The selected individual will report to the regional IT Manager and will be responsible for the daily administrative functions of the IT department. This role involves collaboration with Cyber Security and IT personnel, occasional travel, and after-hours support as needed. The candidate will manage a range of information systems with varying complexities across classified and corporate networks. This is a full-time, exempt position without supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the integration, enhancement, and management of domain services and infrastructure systems within a Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Configuring and managing various business applications, IT/Cyber tools, and other software solutions.
  • Proposing enhancements to the organization's IT services.
  • Contributing to the security of computer and network systems through various security-focused products.
  • Administering data backup and recovery systems for the facility.
  • Performing maintenance and administration of client computers and solutions in different LAN environments.
  • Providing technical support to end users within the local office.
  • Maintaining software licensing records and assisting in IT budget planning sessions.
  • Mentoring junior IT staff and leading technical initiatives.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, along with relevant industry-standard certifications (MCSA, CCNA, Security+, RHCSA).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in roles such as Windows System Administrator, Linux Systems Administrator, or Network Administrator.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a Security+CE or equivalent certification for DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or higher within 90 days of employment.
  • Expertise in domain services utilizing Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, DFS, and DHCP.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in IT.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the capability to produce technical documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or later.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS Administration, SharePoint, Veeam Backup & Replication, or SCCM Configuration Manager.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security tools and technologies for classified information systems (Nessus/ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker, DISA STIGs).
  • Experience working alongside Cyber Security professionals.
