Role Summary
We are in search of a MOPA Laser Hardware Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fremont, California. This position plays a crucial role in the production of MOPA lasers and associated systems. The selected candidate will collaborate with our global team to enhance the manufacturing processes of MOPA lasers, contributing to the overall success of our organization.
This role requires approximately 50% travel to international facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the manufacturing processes of MOPA Lasers.
- Take ownership of the development, planning, execution, and reporting of manufacturing procedures.
- Engage directly with clients to define product specifications, quality standards, and execution strategies.
- Innovate new methods and protocols to expedite the identification of product and component failure modes.
- Monitor and rectify failures during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase and standard production.
- Ensure the automation of data collection and instrument control, providing comprehensive reports and analyses.
- Disseminate findings to the relevant business units.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a technical discipline with over 10 years of relevant experience.
Essential Skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of MOPA Lasers, YAG technology, and high-power laser systems.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across international borders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of optics, fiber optics, electronics, mechanical engineering, and chemistry.
- Experience with automated data collection systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating work plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
