About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Salmon Creek Medical Center. As a Hospitalist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

Clinical Patient Care

Provide prompt and efficient medical care to patients assigned to the inpatient service of the Department of Medicine, including call coverage as scheduled.

Collaborate with Emergency Department Clinical Staff to determine the most appropriate site of care for individual patients.

Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative staff to maximize cost-effective use of clinical resources.

Communicate clearly and promptly with clinicians responsible for outpatient care regarding patients' admission, condition changes, and discharge.

Participate as a team member at patient care conferences.

Manage the care of patients in critical care units with Intensivist support, as needed.

Collaborate with the Medical Director in scheduling.

Supervise patient care delivered by house-staff, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and others as requested.

Prepare accurate and timely documentation of patient care to maximize Hospital's accurate billing and collection of services.

Teaching Duties (specific to designated Legacy sites)

Participate in planning and formal educational programs for Hospital's Training Program in General Internal Medicine, as required by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education.

Participate in the evaluation of residents and medical students, as assigned.

Act as a faculty advisor for three to four medical residents.

Supervise research and scholarship by housestaff.

Other Duties

Participate and provide medical leadership on appropriate clinical committees, as requested.

Participate in the organizational operations of Legacy Health, Legacy Internal Medicine Services, or the formal teaching conferences of the residency program.

Provide physician input into improvement of quality, patient safety, and patient and family satisfaction.

Submit billing and patient charges via electronic medical record on the day of service.

Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the Legacy Medical Group Guiding Principles and Preferred Provider Profile.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of a four-year Medical School or equivalent. Residency completed in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.

Experience:

Clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, preferred.
