Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with technical design through CAD software.
  • Produce accurate drawings, illustrations, and plans in accordance with company standards from field data, calculations, and verbal communication from Project Engineers and Surveyors.
  • Develop preliminary site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and profiles, entrance plans, cross-sections, profiles, boundaries, division plats, and other details.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software programs to perform routine calculations and complex calculations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the company to mentor others, help develop and implement training programs, and monitor industry developments.
  • Assist with drawing reproduction, plan set assembly, distribution, and filing.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, relative associate degree is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience performing design-related work in a civil engineering/surveying environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Knowledge of civil/survey plans and relationships among sheet types within a plan set.
  • Able to work from field gathered data, rough sketches, or verbal discussions to assist engineers/surveyors in the development of simple drawings with minimal guidance and complex drawings with some guidance.
  • Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and be willing to put the full effort towards the task at hand.
  • Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as a technical designer.
