Manufacturing Process Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer at STERIS, you will propose, oversee and improve the processes necessary to produce products ensuring safety first per all appropriate specifications at a rate considerate of company and customer targets.
You will lead problem solving efforts or continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and increase overall equipment effectiveness.
The engineers identify, propose, justify and manage the implementation of capital improvement projects or other improvement efforts and participate and/or lead problem solving teams and initiatives to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support the creation and completion of Engineering Change Requests and manage implementation tasks utilizing formal processes.
- Lead the development of or assist with the creation of detailed work instructions that outline the step-by-step production techniques and standard work for manufacturing processes.
- Assist New Product Introduction team with the launch of new products and support design transfer to production. Provide on-going manufacturing support.
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope or several projects of smaller in size or scope.
Requirements include:
- Minimum two (2) to three (3) years' experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but will accept minimum nine (9) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with fabrication (welding, grinding, machining), mechanical and electronic assembly.
- Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing facility preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise with LEAN process improvement tools and methods.
- Proven proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of CAD, CREO, SolidWorks or other computer aided drawing tools.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent project management skills and experience in handling multiple projects.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Sense of urgency in resolving conflicts and implementing changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
