Job Summary

Cornell College seeks a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join its Facilities Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on food service equipment and general facility maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing, repair, and replacement of electrical, refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and specialized equipment. Experience with renovation and remodeling of buildings is also desirable.

The Refrigeration Technician will work closely with the Facilities Management team to ensure the efficient operation of food service and building equipment. This includes performing preventive maintenance procedures and inspections, monitoring and troubleshooting HVAC efficiencies, and maintaining records of scheduled and reactive maintenance procedures.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A valid Iowa driver's license and EPA refrigeration certification are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on food service equipment and general facility maintenance
  • Assist with renovation and remodeling of buildings
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures and inspections
  • Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC efficiencies
  • Maintain records of scheduled and reactive maintenance procedures
  • Manage parts ordering, parts inventory, and maintenance budget
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Bon Appetit and Facilities Management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years' experience in food service equipment maintenance
  • Excellent skill in the use of hand and power tools, testing and calibration, and EPA refrigeration certification
  • Valid Iowa driver's license and be insurable to drive
