Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bartender to join our team at Northwood Club's Pavilion Pool Bar. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional beverage and dining experiences for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take and prepare alcoholic beverage orders, serving food as needed, and delivering items in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon walk-up or seating.
  • Have the ability to make a wide range of alcoholic cocktails and be able to mix drinks accurately, quickly, and without waste.
  • Describe any specials of the day, answer questions regarding drink and food menu items, and offer suggestions of drink and menu items when appropriate.
  • Takes food and beverage orders from members and guests and orders are delivered promptly after preparation in the bar area.
  • Follows-up after delivery to ensure satisfaction, replenishes items as needed at the bar area, and ensures beverages for servers are prepared accurately and in reasonable time.
  • Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests, maintains an organized workstation and side work duties, and is accountable for member charges.
  • Utilizes Point of Sales System, follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders, and follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery, and general service techniques.
  • Practices tray service for all food and beverage service, ensures the bar is properly set-up and stocked, requisitions filled, and learns and makes all specialty cocktails designed by the Beverage Manager.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager and incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with two to three years related experience preferred.
  • May be required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, to write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
  • May be required to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently stands and walks, uses hands to finger, feel, or handle, reaches with arms and hands, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches, talks or hears.
  • Occasionally sits, climbs, or balances, frequently lifts up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise
  • Works regularly in outdoor weather conditions, and noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses
  • State Food Sanitation and Alcohol Awareness Training.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
  • Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
  • Great communication skills, able to hold fun, upbeat, and engaging conversation, understand and take beverage and food orders.
