Job Summary

Bridgewell is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Specialist 2 to join our team. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities in our Level 2 day habilitation programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Develop and implement individualized programs to meet the unique needs and goals of each participant, in accordance with their Day Habilitation Service Plan.
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of programs, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Administer and interpret assessments to determine each individual's skill level and develop strategies to address any challenges or barriers.
  • Teach skills and provide training to individuals and small groups in designated areas, such as daily living skills, communication, and social skills.
  • Assist individuals in making decisions about their daily routine and activities, and ensure that they have access to communication with family, friends, and significant others.
  • Participate in community events and activities, including volunteer work, outings, and social events, to promote socialization and community integration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress, including progress notes, goal attainment, and any challenges or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including program managers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure that all participants receive comprehensive and coordinated support services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with developmental disabilities or developmental training programs, including working with similar populations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of normalization, behavior management, and human rights.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports and progress notes.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications.
