Job Title: Controls Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical control systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems for machinery and equipment
  • Modify and program PLCs to meet specific requirements
  • Design and build control cabinets for machinery
  • Travel to client sites for integration and installation of control systems
  • Identify and recommend electrical motors and power supplies
  • Work with Ethernet communications such as DeviceNet, Profinet, and Profibus
  • Integrate safety PLCs and safe I/O
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and safety standards

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional controls engineering experience
  • Proficient in PLCs (RsLogix500 and RsLogix5000)
  • Experience with control system design
  • Proficient with Ethernet networking (Profibus, Profinet)
