Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Setup and operate hemodialysis machines to ensure accurate and efficient treatment
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures
- Provide patient education on dialysis treatment, vascular access, and disease process
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or supervisor
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care and treatment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
- Successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and CPR certification
The Patient Care Technician will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
Physical DemandsThe Patient Care Technician will be required to lift and move patients, as well as assist with ambulation. The position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the ability to bend over. The employee may occasionally be required to push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force.
