Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide clinical support to medical practitioners, assist with minor surgical procedures, and perform in-office testing and treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for medical appointments and procedures.
  • Assist medical practitioners with minor surgical procedures and in-office testing.
  • Perform phlebotomy work and injections as needed.
  • Triage patient calls and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Remind patients of upcoming appointments and collect necessary reports and information.
  • Execute standing orders and routine preventative services as authorized by medical practitioners.
  • Notify patients of test results and communicate recommendations as instructed by medical practitioners.
  • Provide educational information to patients and answer questions as needed.
  • Document patient information and charts accurately and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a medical office preferred.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn EMR systems.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure or certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Working Conditions:

This position requires prolonged periods of standing, lifting, and moving up to 30 pounds. Potential exposure to diseases or infections is possible.
