Flexible Licensed Practical Nurse for Medication Management

On-Demand Medication Dispensing Nurse LPN/LVN BayMark Health Services is seeking a compassionate and meticulous Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to manage the dispensing of prescribed medications as an integral member of a treatment team, collaborating closely with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse will also be responsible for the upkeep of dispensing equipment, overseeing medication inventory, and documenting patient treatment information. An ideal candidate will work harmoniously with supervisory counseling staff and exhibit a non-judgmental and accepting demeanor towards individuals facing Substance Use Disorders.Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications to patients in alignment with program policies and medical protocols.
  • Utilize automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
  • Generate and maintain accurate records and reports as mandated by company protocols, as well as Federal and State regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Order, receive, and stock medications in compliance with DEA and State regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
  • Conduct daily assessments of patients.
  • Assist the Nursing Supervisor in orienting new nursing staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Valid and active LPN/LVN license in the State of Ohio.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Proficiency in EMR and computer systems is preferred.
  • Experience in chemical dependency is advantageous; must be self-motivated and maintain a positive attitude towards individuals in treatment for substance abuse.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check.
