We are currently in search of a Technical Supervisor for our High-Complexity Testing CLIA Laboratory specializing in molecular diagnostics. Below are the details regarding the role and its requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Determines the appropriate testing methodologies suitable for the clinical applications of the laboratory's test menu.
  2. Validates testing procedures and establishes performance benchmarks for the laboratory, ensuring accuracy and precision for each test and testing system.
  3. Enlists the laboratory in a recognized proficiency testing program that aligns with the services provided.
  4. Implements a quality control program tailored to the tests conducted, setting acceptable performance standards and ensuring adherence throughout the testing process.
  5. Troubleshoots technical issues and ensures that corrective measures are enacted whenever testing systems deviate from established performance criteria.
  6. Guarantees that patient test results are withheld until all corrective actions are completed and the testing system is fully operational.
  7. Identifies educational needs and ensures that testing personnel receive consistent in-service training.
  8. Continuously assesses the competency of all testing staff.
  9. Documents and evaluates the performance of testing personnel at six-month and twelve-month intervals during their first year of employment, with annual reviews thereafter. Performance evaluations must also occur if there are changes in test methodologies or instrumentation.
Qualifications:
  1. Must be qualified as a Director for high-complexity testing;
  2. OR qualified as a Technical Supervisor for high-complexity testing;
  3. OR possess a Doctoral degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field with one year of training and experience in high-complexity testing;
  4. OR hold a Master's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related field with one year of training and experience in high-complexity testing;
  5. OR have a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related field with one year of training and experience in high-complexity testing;
  6. OR possess an Associate degree in medical laboratory technology (or pulmonary function) along with two years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing. Refer to CLIA regulations 42CFR for additional qualifications.
