Job Overview

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Compensation: $16.25 hourly

Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Security Guard is to uphold safety and security protocols through vigilant monitoring and physical inspections, ensuring the controlled access and exit of individuals at designated service points.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee surveillance systems to safeguard the well-being of staff and protect valuable assets.
  • Monitor alarm systems, including intrusion, fire, and environmental controls, and respond appropriately; serve as a communication link with emergency services during alarm events.
  • Manage access to the service entrance, ensuring proper identification and logging of deliveries while assisting vendors as necessary.
  • Document and report daily activities and incidents occurring during shifts.
  • Notify the Security Manager of any unusual occurrences; adhere to established protocols in their absence.
  • Conduct routine patrols, remaining alert to security vulnerabilities, maintenance issues, and potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with property control policies during the movement of items.
  • Respond promptly to radio communications and coordinate with management, law enforcement, and emergency medical services as needed.
  • Utilize email for communication with management and other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Proficient in computer operations, including email and web-based applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others while maintaining security standards.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of responsibility and adherence to regulations while interacting with the public and staff; prior experience with surveillance and monitoring systems is advantageous.
