Cardiac Device Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Device Technician to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Nurse Practitioners and Physicians in the management of patients with implanted cardiac devices requiring cardiac device therapy.
This role involves establishing and maintaining a remote monitoring program, including scheduling, billing, downloading, and analysis of clinical device transmissions. The Cardiac Device Technician will be responsible for clinical interrogation of pacemakers, Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) devices, and implantable loop recorders, as well as reviewing patient cardiac rhythms and other clinical interrogation data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EKG interpretation and a certification in Cardiac Arrhythmia Technology. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling of clinic and remote appointments
- Registering patients on vendor websites for remote monitoring systems
- Monitoring websites for remote transmissions and urgent alerts
- Downloading and analysis of transmissions
- Interrogation and programming of pacemakers, ICD devices, and loop recorders under the direct supervision of physicians and cardiac device certified allied professionals
- Holter Monitor set-up and reporting
- Monitor Transmission status of all remotely monitored device patients within the practice via the vendor website
- Maintains accurate and complete documentation and records; generates reports as needed; enters information in database system; ensures data integrity
- Participates in quality assurance activities; ie. Remote monitoring patient compliance
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited EKG school, Graduate of a Cardiac Arrhythmia Technology Program, or equivalent training/experience in interpreting cardiac arrhythmias
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
