Job Summary

This position is located in the Administrative Division of the National Park Service. The Administrative Officer will be responsible for providing administrative and business services to enable the efficient operation of the park or program office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in budget and financial management, human resources management, and acquisition and property management. The selected candidate will also serve as a member of the management team and plan, analyze, and monitor the formulation and development of programs, procedures, operating policies, internal controls, and program goals.

Responsibilities

Provide a wide variety of administrative and business services to enable the efficient operation of the park or program office.
Supervise and direct an administrative staff in support of the park or program office.
Advise on business management processes, including budget and financial management, and coordinate the procurement and property management, information technology, and human resources needs and requirements for the park or program area.
Develop and formulate alternative solutions to complex administrative matters.

Requirements

At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
Experience in providing administrative and business services, supervising and directing an administrative staff, advising on business management processes, and developing and formulating alternative solutions to complex administrative matters.

Working Environment

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts, which require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting and training rooms, and commercial vehicles. The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework on a situational basis or during an emergency or natural disaster.
