Physician Emergency Department Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Emergency Department Specialist to join our team at the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of new medical policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct emergency care to patients with a wide range of medical problems, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve systems of patient care and develop new medical policies and procedures.
- Participate in service unit meetings to develop and modify existing medical policies and procedures.
- Participate in community activities and community health planning as necessary.
- Maintain patient records in the problem-oriented medical record format and complete forms directly related to patient care.
- Successful completion of a 4-year college program, 4 years of medical school, and 3-4 years of an approved residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Must have ACLS and PALS certification.
- Will be proficient within 6 months.
- Will obtain ATLS certification within 6 months if working in the Emergency Room.
The work environment involves moderate risks of exposure to infectious disease, radiation, electrical hazards, and irritant chemical and explosive gases. Employee must strictly adhere to OSHA guidelines and protocol for maintaining sterile conditions.
Some evening, night, and weekend work is required. May be necessary to work when Administrative Leave is granted if patient care is compromised.
