Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant - Emergency Department

Job Summary:

The Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our healthcare team, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic clinical nursing care to acutely ill patients, including vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and documentation of medical data.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, oral hygiene, and feeding.
  • Operate specialized medical equipment, including suction pumps, oxygen equipment, and automatic BP cuffs.
  • Recognize and report abnormal findings related to vital signs, clinical signs and symptoms, and laboratory findings.
  • Initiate appropriate resuscitative measures in emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Successfully completed an accredited program in Nursing Assistant.
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Work Environment:

The work environment involves moderate risks of exposure to infectious disease, radiation, electrical hazards, irritant chemicals, and explosive gases.

Customer Service:

Consistently demonstrate superior customer service skills to patients/customers by demonstrating characteristics that align with CIHA's guiding principles and core values.
