Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior OPIR Systems Integration Engineer to join our team at Axient. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the integration of OPIR systems, ensuring seamless communication between space and ground systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide modeling and simulation expertise to support mission integration and performance.
  • Lead the integration of OPIR ground systems, ensuring compatibility and interoperability.
  • Assess and analyze ground processing software to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in enterprise-level testing and provide recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement modeling and simulation needs for the OPIR program.
  • Perform assessments of contractor deliverables and design reviews.
  • Conduct mission assessments of technical and schedule readiness for satellites and ground systems.
  • Develop support plans for system transportation to integration laboratories and operations sites.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in development, implementation, and integration of payload satellite and ground missions.
  • Active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation.
  • Familiarity with Space System Command (Formerly Space and Missile Systems Center) space and ground satellite systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading diverse teams of subject matter experts, technicians, and specialists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with government officials and development contractors.
  • Good working knowledge of space-based sensing systems, preferably in both Geosynchronous and Highly Elliptical orbital regimes.
