Job Description

Overview

The Customer Service Representative's main responsibility is to provide quality customer service to store patrons while ensuring the inside and outside of the facility are clean and well maintained. This includes assisting customers, stocking inventory, store housekeeping, unloading of deliveries, and other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Project a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provide outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Read and follow company employee policies.
  • Continuously follow safety guidelines and safety programs established for the C-Store.
  • Be flexible in work hours and shift assignments.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Complete daily paperwork.
  • Operate cash registers and other company equipment as needed.
  • Record sales transactions and receive payments for the transactions.
  • Greet customers in a friendly manner and help them find products or services.
  • Restock shelves, displays, and food service items.
  • Keep all product dispensing equipment and service areas orderly and clean.
  • Perform all assigned inside and outside housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with prep work for the main kitchen, associated areas, and preparing orders when needed.
  • Arrive on time for shifts and work assigned hours.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

A high school education or GED is preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Voluntary training in providing First Aid and CPR is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit, bend, and reach over head as part of daily activities.
  • Able to hear effectively on the phone to take messages and answer inquiries.
  • Able to read documents with fine print.
  • Able to use a keyboard.
  • Able to lift 60+ pounds.
