Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team within Corporate Accounting. This role plays a vital part in the internal and external financial reporting of the organization, including providing key insights into the results of Independence Health Group and its subsidiaries (IHG).

About the Role
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for actively supporting all reporting and financial statement preparation, including internal reporting, GAAP, statutory, and external reporting. This role will also participate in the completion of the monthly, quarterly & annual close processes, including required insurance industry regulatory filings. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries and other duties for the financial close process, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and performing routine inquiries to reconcile and understand variances and differences. The Senior Accountant will also develop non-standard reports or analyses and address problematic issues and activities related to general ledger accounts. Additionally, this role will prepare and examine transactions to ensure accounting methods are consistent and compliant, review reporting for accuracy, and recommend corrective actions and implement changes as necessary in accordance with applicable accounting guidance and policies. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of general accounting practices & principles, good written and oral communication skills, and working knowledge of supporting technologies (i.e. PeopleSoft) and large ERP systems.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a BS/BA in Accounting, CPA or working towards obtaining license preferred. Three to five or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience is required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint) and analytical skills are essential. The ability to think critically, identify and solve improvements in processes, and work collaboratively across a team is also required. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with respect to activity recorded in the general ledger and perform analytical analyses on a monthly basis. Experience working in a Hybrid model, consisting of associates working in the office 3 days a week and remotely 2 days a week, is beneficial. A compatible Android or iOS device that can run the free Microsoft Authenticator app is mandatory.

Estimated Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
