About the Role

Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Foster Care Kinship Specialist to join our Foster Care & Adoption Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the recruitment and licensing process of kinship caregivers, ensuring the well-being and safety of foster children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and license kinship caregivers, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements and standards.
  • Coordinate and provide services to foster children placed in approved and licensed kinship caregivers, including case management, counseling, and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of service for clients, designed to increase strengths, address needs, and reduce conflict in the home.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention support as needed, working closely with clients and kinship caregivers to address challenges and achieve permanency.
  • Collaborate with CPS and other stakeholders to ensure successful placements and provide support to kinship caregivers.
  • Conduct investigations into complaints regarding licensing or Buckner policy deficiencies, identifying issues and assisting kinship caregivers in developing corrective action plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in kinship care or a related field.
  • Counseling and/or social work licensure is preferred.
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable.
  • Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
