- Conduct registration processes for both new and returning patients, ensuring all necessary demographic, insurance, and payment information is collected.
- Clarify insurance eligibility criteria and coverage details to patients as needed.
- Collect copayments, manage cash drawer, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure timely verification of insurance prior to appointments.
- Adapt to varying patient volumes and physician schedules.
- Serve as a communication bridge between patients and the billing department for any billing inquiries.
- Utilize the patient portal for registration tasks.
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in orthopedics.
- Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting; experience in patient registration is advantageous.
- Experience with EMR systems is necessary; familiarity with MEDENT is preferred.
- Physical requirements include manual dexterity, standing, sitting, and walking.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds; normal visual and auditory acuity is essential.
