About the Opportunity


The California State University is seeking a highly qualified counselor to join our team as a Tenure-Track Faculty in the Department of University Counseling Services.


This 12-month, tenure-track position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and contribute to the growth and development of our university community.


Responsibilities



  • Provide clinical services to a diverse population of university students, including individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and case management.
  • Serve as a liaison to Asian, Pacific Islander & Desi American (APIDA) and/or transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive students, providing culturally sensitive support and outreach programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement campus/community psycho-educational programs and interventions to promote student academic and personal success.
  • Participate in the department's APA-Accredited doctoral training program, providing supervision and training to graduate students.
  • Maintain ethical and timely documentation of all clinical work in electronic medical record keeping systems.

Requirements



  • Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of California as a psychologist, with a commitment to obtaining licensure within 24 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated generalist clinical therapeutic and diagnostic skills, including experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to multiculturalism.
  • Experience and/or special training in working with Asian, Pacific Islander & Desi American (APIDA) and/or transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive students.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, students, and community partners.
