Job Summary

The Registrar Scheduler plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic by facilitating patient flow and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patients for consultations, procedures, and tests as needed.
  • Enter patient demographic and insurance information, as well as charges for services rendered.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through electronic verification systems or by contacting the insurance payer.
  • Obtain pre-certification/authorization as required by individual payers.
  • Manage multiple tasks with a focus on professional customer service.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with associates, patients, visitors, and the public.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification.
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Training or educational background in medical terminology and ICD coding.
