Position Overview:

As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while efficiently processing transactions. Your responsibilities will include managing cash register operations and ensuring the security of company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, greeting customers, and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Stay informed about ongoing promotions and product offerings.
  • Accurately process sales transactions by scanning items and following safety protocols, while handling various payment methods including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
  • Relay customer inquiries and requests to management for resolution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized register area, ensuring supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Conduct cash drawer counts at the start and end of each shift to verify accuracy and ensure sufficient change is available.
  • Handle cash transactions with precision, providing correct change to customers.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and manage physical tasks, including lifting merchandise.
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in processing transactions through the register system.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete necessary documentation accurately.
  • Familiarity with operating required equipment for the role.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are essential.
  • Experience in cash handling and counting is preferred.
