POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Host/Hostess at Cipriani. This position is responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences, managing reservations, and ensuring seamless table management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival, assigning them to a wait list if necessary.
  • Monitor the wait list, providing accurate wait times and ensuring guest satisfaction while waiting for their table.
  • Escort and seat guests at their tables, starting their dining experience with a positive impression.
  • Assign guests to tables they prefer, while maintaining a smooth flow of service.
  • Receive, confirm, and log reservations via phone, in-person, or through our online system, Sevenrooms, while monitoring special requests or celebrations.
  • Communicate VIP guest arrivals or special requests to dining room staff to ensure a polished and seamless dining experience.
  • Listen, evaluate, and respond to complaints, assisting in resolving guest issues efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional and polished appearance, exceeding guest expectations.
  • Cater to guests requiring extra attention, such as children or the elderly.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable reception area, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Greet guests upon departure, showing gratitude and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a host in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings.
  • Knowledge of operating systems like Opera.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including knowledge of scheduling software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Endurance to withstand long hours of standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks.
  • Adherence to proper lifting techniques and ergonomics to prevent strain or injury while performing job duties.
