Job Title: Senior Communications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Engineer to join our team at Diaconia LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced communication and navigation systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with technical requirements compliance for avionics development, test, sustainment, and operations.
  • Evaluate technical documents and determine sufficiency for demonstrating compliance with specification and airworthiness.
  • Apply an understanding of DoD, AF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve the performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.
  • Understand and execute Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, associated AFIs and Airworthiness Bulletins through standardized processes and issuance of flight authorizations.
  • Assist in translating user requirements into weapons system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate weapons systems, subsystems, and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment.
Requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years' functional area experience.
  • Must understand how to apply MIL-HDBK-16C Airworthiness Certification Criteria, to aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams.
  • Proven ability to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns.
  • Champion in communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.
  • Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations.
  • Capability to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff.
  • Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Independently demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Skype/Lync), Adobe Acrobat, and applications for access to the world wide web including Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
