KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in patient intake, which involves escorting patients to examination rooms, completing medication reconciliation, documenting medical history, assessing vital signs, and addressing any additional care needs.
- Facilitate telehealth appointments by preparing patients for virtual consultations, including identifying the chief complaint and ensuring all necessary information is gathered.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and well-stocked in preparation for patient visits.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring proper logging and preparation for testing.
- Operate diagnostic equipment, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), to conduct routine tests.
- Administer medications and vaccines as per provider instructions, ensuring compliance with written orders.
- Educate patients on treatment procedures, medication regimens, dietary guidelines, and necessary preparations for diagnostic tests.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of contaminated materials.
- Conduct daily point-of-care equipment testing prior to patient interactions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
- Basic life support certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
- Availability for evening shifts and occasional Saturday mornings.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel independently between locations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced training or college coursework in Allied Health, Science, Medical Assisting, or a related healthcare field.
- Medical Assistant certification from a nationally recognized organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) within 12 months of hire.
- Completion of an interpreter training course or certification from the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters.
