Job Title: Quality Technician

Flex Inc is seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team in Austin, TX. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Job Summary:

The Quality Technician will be responsible for auditing processes, testing and inspecting products, and developing and evaluating statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability standards. This role will also involve working with engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics to perform complex engineering testing and root cause research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit processes and test products to ensure quality and reliability standards are met
  • Develop and evaluate statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability standards
  • Work with engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics to perform complex engineering testing and root cause research
  • Select processes to be audited and check for features such as ESD and handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity
  • Select products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process and test for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics
  • Record audit data and apply statistical quality control procedures
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
  • Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards, programs, or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
  • Perform calibration on inspection tools and maintain gage track program
  • Send gages out for calibration and maintain calibration records
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for research data
  • Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports
  • Research for engineering test results and implement process changes to resolve problems
  • Perform out of box audits (OBA) as required
  • Provide factory hold up to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing
  • May be required to perform receiving inspection
  • Review at the beginning of the shift the Quality Auditors assistance and validated the Check List
  • Scrap disposition at MRB in less than 24 hours
  • Assure that the Customer implementation activities are in place
  • Meet the SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs)
  • Review the SPC data and confirm the actions are effective
  • Validate the tooling and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc)
Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience
