Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of criminal history records and other data submitted by law enforcement and judicial entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze applicant submissions and criminal history records for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct quality control reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Communicate final determinations to local, state, and federal agencies and the general public
  • Interpret and disseminate information regarding internal rules, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Analyze quality control error findings for trends and patterns
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience in criminal history records, auditing, compliance, or quality assurance work
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures related to the maintenance, processing, retention, confidentiality, and dissemination of criminal records
  • Ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy, and establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple demands and deadlines
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a safe manner at all times, avoiding shortcuts that have potential adverse results or risks. You will also be required to work after-hours, weekends, holidays, overnight, and during inclement weather.
