We are seeking a highly skilled Processing Technician to join our team at the Kuiper Payload Processing Facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our satellite products.
Key Responsibilities- Apply a deep understanding of mechanical assembly, electrical checkout, and satellite troubleshooting to accomplish daily tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Uphold all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility.
- Assist in the development of new and junior team members and adhere to standards and procedures.
- Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules.
- Integration and test of the Kuiper satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment.
- Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware.
- Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required.
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers, and calipers.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
- Run functional and environmental testing on units, including some basic troubleshooting operations.
- Use computer software programs for controlling tests.
- Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities.
- Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe, and effective work environment.

Basic Qualifications- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport and meet customs entry requirements.
- Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environments.
- Experience in a fast-paced processing environment.
- Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ESD sensitive hardware, and in a clean room.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment (including previous certifications).
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations.
- Able to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
- Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.
